Passive wave division multiplexing system OptiPlex
Passive systems of wave division multiplexing OptiPlex (wave division multiplexing sets) are a number of passive transmission elements which allow to build modern optic networks. Depending on the number of end users, the required number of optic channels or used wavelengths different elements are available – used for creation of reliable and efficient optic infrastructure. As the part of assortment of wave division multiplexing sets circulators, WDM couplers, EWDM marginal couplers, CWDM and DWDM muliplexers and demultiplexers, add/drop modules and combinations of the abovementioned elements are available, among others.
Elements of OptiPlex systems allow to optimize usage of optic fibers. Thanks to those elements it is possible to reduce the number of required fibers: two times (circulators, WDM couplers) four times (wave circulators, special instances of CWDM and DWDM multiplexers and demultiplexers) or multiple times (CWDM and DWDM multiplexers and demultiplexers).
Among elements of OptiPlex systems there both products which operate at a single wavelength (circulators) as well as at many wavelengths (others). Due to purely passive principle of operation they do not require a power supply which directly translated into their simplicity of maintainence and exploitation of optic network.
