IP-MPLS
IP-MPLS (IP Multi-Protocol Label Switching) is a network technology that offers label-based switching.
It involves identifying each packet appearing at the network edge, labelling it, and forwarding it on – as a result, packets sent over an MPLS network are no longer bound to IP addresses, instead, they are labelled, which significantly streamlines the transmission process.
The primary benefit of implementing IP-MPLS is increased network performance and flexibility. The use of this technology also paves the way for launching new services, including L2/L3 VPN.
