Basics of the teletechnics

Teletechnical installation is now an absolute must in any building, especially those intended for office premises, services, or production halls. Teletechnics is a field that is developing very rapidly, at the same time it is quite often misdefined. So what exactly is teletechnical installation, what is included in it, and what services are performed as part of it?

In the simplest meaning, it is a technical field that deals with the practical application of telecommunications. That’s what the definition tells us. Its scope includes both issues related to production, design, implementation services, maintenance of networks, equipment, and systems. Very often when we talk about teletechnics, we think primarily of in-building structured cabling (LAN) installation. However, this is only one of the elements it actually includes.

Also worth mentioning are:

  • LAN/WLAN network equipment ;
  • Fiber optic cabling;
  • Closed-circuit television (CCTV);
  • SSWIN alarm systems;
  • Fire protection systems;
  • Access control.

Is that all? No, you can list a few more elements, but these are the ones in which we as FCA have many years of experience, and they are the ones that seem most important to us from an enterprise perspective.

LAN structured cabling

Structured cabling, that is, the total telecommunications cabling in a building. The design of a new installation is always carried out individually based on current and future needs. Verifying the existing one, we check whether the current infrastructure is sufficient, whether its capacity is satisfactory, and whether future expansion or upgrade of devices connected to it will be implemented. Quite often we encounter a situation where the installation exists, but its design documentation is incomplete, then it is necessary to perform a network passportization, i.e. a full inventory of resources. Of course, work on the LAN does not end only at the design stage. It still includes network construction based on the prepared documents, cable laying from the distribution cabinet (also installation of this cabinet) up to the end users (e.g. outlets, cameras, and APs, etc.), measurements of the installed network, installation of the final elements of the route ( socket, panel or cable ready for attaching devices), as well as installation of cable routes-troughs.

LAN/WLAN network devices

The most common use of a structured network is for servers, workstations, as well as WiFi networks. Choosing the right access points, routers, and switches, as well as installing and configuring them, we take full advantage of the capabilities of the created teletechnical network.

Fiber optic cabling

The use of fiber optic technology inside a building is also becoming increasingly popular. It enables us to achieve better network capacities and thus install more devices. Fiber optic networks have no secrets from us, so we can fully support our customers in this area as well. We design cabling based on the guidelines, install patchpanels, splice fiber optics, lay cables, and take measurements. We take our vast experience in this technology and transfer it to the customer’s installation.

Closed-circuit television – CCTV

An existing or newly built cable network can be used not only as a computer network. One example of such use can be CCTV. It allows surveillance of a facility by recording images using CCTV cameras. Properly prepared design of camera placement allows for increased security in the facility. It is also crucial to select the equipment so that it meets all requirements, including budget. There are many models of cameras, video recorders, switches, as well as viewing equipment (computers and monitors) available on the market. The selected components are not always compatible with each other, while the result obtained is satisfactory. That’s why you should take advantage of our experience and entrust this task to experts. Also crucial is the proper installation of equipment, verified by activating the monitoring management system.

SSWIN alarm systems

Burglary and robbery alarm systems (SSWIN) are one of the basic elements in the protection of a facility, both commercial and domestic. They allow quick and effective detection of an event such as unauthorized access to the building by unauthorized persons. A properly executed system can definitely increase security and thus reduce the risk associated with theft. Very important here is the proper design of the system and accurate placement of detectors. Motion detectors should effectively cover sensitive areas. It is due to their reliability that the whole system works properly.

Fire protection systems

Like SSWIN alarm systems, fire protection systems also rely on a network of detectors. The efficiency and reliability of this system can protect human health and even life. Its correct operation directly affects the safety of users. It can include SAP/SSP (fire alarm), DSO (voice evacuation systems) and SO (smoke extraction systems) installations. The selection of appropriate equipment, proper design, and execution of the installation is the absolute basics here. When it comes to security, you should be guided by experience and trust the specialists.

Access control

These systems are used primarily in office buildings and industrial plants. They prevent unauthorized persons from entering a specific area. They are one of the basic tools for increasing the security of both people and classified information. These systems allow controlling access to the entire building, separate zones, or individual rooms, and entry is possible only for authorized individuals. Authentication of users is implemented using magnetic cards, RFID cards, PINs or others.

These few examples of teletechnical installations clearly show that a modern enterprise, in principle, cannot operate efficiently without them. Teletechnical installations are an element that should not be forgotten, and choosing the right partner for cooperation is the key to success. Therefore, it is worth using the offer of a trusted and experienced company that can both design such installations, provide equipment, as well as build and launch the system. As FCA, we carry out complex teletechnical installations and integrate solutions so that as many of them as possible work together in one master system. This makes it much easier to supervise and control all solutions.

Is FCA a good choice? The best answer is the testimonials from our satisfied customers.
